Windy But Great Fishing…

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:56 pm

It’s been a strange week for June. Lots of wind, but luckily the fish have been biting well.
We fished offshore a few days and on the reef a few days. Offshore there’s still been plenty of dolphin, but as usual not as many big fish. As my ol’ saying goes, there all the same size on the fork! The reef fishing for yellowtail snapper has been great, with people catching lots of nice big flags for the frying pan. I’m fishing with the same guy today and tomorrow, and it should be a good time for all. Until Next Time….Capt. Jeff

Tarpon Still Chomping!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:18 pm

Fished this past week with some great people. Lots of nice yellowtail snapper, some mahi mahi, and some big tarpon. Fished two guys today from up north. We had a great time!! Started the day off tarpon fishing first thing in the morning. Our first drift we hooked a doubleheader of  tarpon! Talk about starting the day off with a bang! We jumped one off, and releases the other one after a 42 minute fight. we caught a few more tarpon, a nice 20 pound permit, and finished off with six big flag yellowtail. All in all a good 3/4 day of fishing. Well, Until Next Time….Capt. Jeff

Great Fishing! Slacker Writer!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:55 pm

I’ve sucked at writing reports lately. The fishing though has just been red hot!

I have been fishing pretty much non-stop since mid-April, and it’s been just fantastic! This past week we’ve hit big mahi mahi offshore. We limited out on yellowtail snapper on the reef. And just this morning, we went 3 for 6 on tarpon. You name it, it’s been biting well. I’ll work on getting a few more reports oot. And no, so far there is no oil, just great fishing! Until Next Time…..Capt. Jeff

Nice Comments And Nice King….

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:34 am

Hi there captain Jeff, I’m not sure if you will remember us or not but we are the canadians who didn’t listen so well out on the water lol. I knew you were going to be away so I waited to send you a few pictures and my thanks. We had an amazing time, and it was a blast to go fishing on your amazing boat. I have alot of photos and wasn’t sure if you would want very many, so I just sent the three on here. if you want some more I have a few of the boat and of fishing in action, and maybe a pelican getting shot with a hose. It was easily the best day of our trip to the US amd you were easily the best person I met.

Best wishes,
Earl Johnston

Last Week Hot, This Week Windy….

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:38 pm

Last week we had some outstanding fishing! Sailfish and cobia tailing on the edge of the reef. Snapper and grouper hitting your bait as soon as it hits the bottom. And then came the wind. We’ll probably get blown out the next three days, but I’d rather everyone have a fun trip than a chumming trip.  Highlight of last week was 5 for 8 on sails one day. Another day we whacked a few sails, and also put four big cobia in the box. The largest cobia was 52lbs. Well, Until Next Time….Capt. Jeff

Back At It…

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:16 am

Well, sorry I haven’t written anything for a few weeks. We went skiing in Colorado for a week. My son Dillon got to see snow for the first time on his fourth birthday. It was a riot and he’s gonna be a great skier! We fished the past five days and had some Great action. Lots of nice mangroves still biting, as well as some big kings showing up in the channel. The deep dropping has been good for big amberjacks, but not alot of big mutton snappers to speak of. There have been a few sailfish tailing with the east winds, and it’s just a matter of time before it busts loose. Well, Until Next Time….Capt. Jeff

Bayfishing Getting Better….

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:57 am

The bayfishing is Finally getting better. The wind blew a little the past few so we went for snapper and mackerel bayside. lots of decent mangroves, but the spanish mackerel are about as good as they can get. We had a contest today to see if someones bait would last longer than ten seconds without a bite. We never made it past an eight count for almost three hours. It was fantastic action, and they went home with a load of fillets….Until Next Time….Capt. Jeff

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:07 am

Past four days has been some outstanding snapper and grouper fishing. Lots of big mangroves! We also had some nice cobia tailing through in the channel for a couple of days. We caught several both days, and were sight casting to them. The largest one we boated was around 40lbs…Until Next Time….Capt. Jeff
